Eleanor’s Saloon was built as the First State Bank. The old vault room is now the kitchen. Eleanor’s is known for the best burgers on the Palouse.  229-3389

 

Sage Baking Company    

In January 2003 Sage Baking Company moved into the 110 year old Jacobs' Building that had been renovated by the U.C.D.A. The bakery produces craftsman style specialty breads, scones and pastries. The bakery also offers soups and sandwiches for lunch.

Churchyard InnChurchyard Inn Bed & Breakfast      

The Churchyard Inn was built as a convent adjacent to the St. Boniface Church. It had been vacant for many years. Several of the members of the Parish Council had advocated tearing the building down so the church parking lot could be expanded, but fortunately the building was sold to 2 local families who turned it into a bed and breakfast inn.  The Inn can be contacted at cyi@inlandnet.com or 229-3200.

 The Uniontown Co-operative Association. Farmers Union was organized in 1909 and was reorganized as the co-op in 1916 for the purpose of group purchasing of farm supplies and providing storage facilities for grain. The present facility can store 1,750,000 bushels of grain which is equal to the produce from over 20,000 acres of farm land.

In working to improve the business and employment opportunities in Uniontown, the community:

  • Revised the Comprehensive Plan and zoning to encourage small and home based businesses,
  • Had a business development feasibility study completed by a planner who specializes in business development in rural communities,
  • Completed the rebuilding of the water mains and sidewalks on the main commercial street,
  • Formed the Uniontown Community Development Association to promote the improvement of the economic conditions in Uniontown.
