The Public Works Department provides many of the important services that citizens receive from their government. The primary functions of the Public Works Department include: water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, street maintenance, landscaping, parks construction and maintenance, building maintenance, and vehicle maintenance. The Department also plays a major role in the planning for the City's future.

The Public Works Department will:

1. Continue to create a safe environment for the citizens of Uniontown while improving conditions in the city.
2. Continue to participate in regional planning efforts dealing with regional transportation, water supply, groundwater protection, and much more;
3. Continue to participate in the education of environmental concerns;
4. Continue to enhance communications and working relationships with other City departments and elected officials to better serve the needs of the citizens;
5. Provide continued support to elected officials to better allow them to make good informed decisions.
